Uploading a PKI certificate to your account

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates are critical for enhancing the security of your electronic transactions. They establish a secure and trustworthy connection by providing a digital signature capability. If you have a PKI certificate that you need to upload to your Snapdocs RON (formerly Pactima) account, here's a straightforward guide to assist you. (If you don't have a PKI certificate, here's a [guide on how to obtain one](https://ronsupport.snapdocs.com/article/34073546-identrust-pki-certificate-resources-for-snapdocs-ron-formerly-pactima-purchasing-import-and-export)) <iframe src="https://www.loom.com/embed/239d27ef28cf4eb68271b46b7e596080" width="100%" height="405" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen title="Uploading a PKI certificate to your account"></iframe> ## Steps for Uploading Your PKI Certificate 1. **Access Your Account Settings** - Click on the **Account** tab in the top right corner of the Snapdocs RON (formerly Pactima) header. 2. **Find the Locker card** - Look through the options presented and click on the **Locker** card, often symbolized by a lock icon. 3. **Navigate to PKI Certificates** - Within the security options, find and select the **PKI Certificates** card. 4. **Obtain or Upload a Certificate** - If you don’t already have a PKI certificate, you can obtain one through Snapdocs RON (formerly Pactima)’s partner, IdenTrust. - If you do not already have a digital certificate from another provider, you can also generate a free digital certificate from your Snapdocs RON profile by going to **Account** > **Locker and Notary Hub** > **PKI Certificate**. - If you have your certificate ready, click **Upload PKI Certificate**. 5. **Provide Certificate Details** - Name your certificate. This label is for your reference and doesn't impact the functionality of the certificate. 6. **Upload and Verify** - Upload your certificate file. - Enter the password associated with your certificate — this is the encryption password you set or were given when you obtained the certificate. 7. **Complete the Upload** - If the password is incorrect, you’ll receive an error message prompting you to try again. - With the correct password, your certificate will be uploaded successfully. - Finalize the process by clicking **Add Certificate**. ## If you need proof for a Notary Connect account - If you are uploading proof as the **Digital Certificate** in a Notary Connect account, use the **Snapdocs Exemplar** download guidance. - Keep your digital certificate or exemplar separate from your **RON training certificate**. These are different credentials and satisfy different requirements.
